Description

The civil rights movement of the 1960's in the Denver metro area brought about significant changes in employment, housing, voting, and education. Some do not know of the contributions of C.O.R.E. during the 1950s and 1960s. Racial abuses are reappearing, injustices and prejudices are reemerging. Rebels Remembered hopes to preserve the history of the civil rights movement in Colorado.

The Civil Rights Movement in Colorado gives the viewer a profound sense of the hurt caused by prejudice. This first of three one-hour programs illustrates events and circumstance from the view points of those whose time forever changed race relations. The program evolves from the time when hurtful racially bigoted action was the norm of society, through the activism of the middle of the decade to present day.
